Halloween Party organisation meetings

We already took the first steps to making an awesome Halloween Party on the 31-st of October. Our first meeting led to choosing the destination, duration and conditions of the trip.  It all comes down to 7 students and the teacher. Challenging, isn`t it? But we are really excited about it. We asked the eight-graders if they were interested in this idea. Some of them were enthusiastic, others were not. However, we are determined to cope with this organisation.
On the second meeting we decided that we`re going to write the scenario together, so this will be the aim of our next meeting. The most interesting part of the second gathering was choosing the gifts for the winners of the games. We had a good look at www.souvenir.bg and made a list of the things we are going to order. I can`t wait to see them when they arrive! We are also planning some interesting Halloween decoration that will bring more joy into the celebration.

Celebrating The Independence day of Bulgaria - 22.9.2012

As I was walking uphill the ancient fort "Tsarevets" today, dressed in my dignified school uniform, I was thinking about how glorious our ancestors were and how much they gave and sacrificed to gain the freedom of our country and its nation. On this day, 104 years ago in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria was proclaimed an independent republic. Since then, 22.9 have become an official national holiday. This year the celebration was accompanied by an impressive ceremony on the top of the old stronghold, a parade and lots of floral tributes. It can really make you proud of your nationality to see all these patriots paying tribute to their motherland on such a solemn day! To attend this event was really interesting and moving, so I would definitely do it again, even just to feel a part of this big Bulgarian family.

Congratulations on your Independence day, Bulgaria!
Честит празник, българи!

Second CAS Meeting and Donating books for "Nadejda" library

Here we go again. Our second CAS meeting took us far away with the planning of our future activities. The Personal Planning Pages were already handed out, so it was time for us to fill them. I was really excited to hear the upcoming events that we`ll have to take care of.  I can`t wait for the Art club to open. And then all the party and ball organisation and decorations - that`s my thing!
However, it`s gonna be a tough year...It takes a lot of time and strong motivation for the charity campaigns. Speaking of charity, we just had our first mission accomplished! We donated books to a local library. And there was this nice, warm feeling once you have done something kind and helpful. :)

First CAS Meeting

It`s already a fact! We, the new IB students of American college "Arcus", had our first ever "Creativity, action and service" meeting with the teacher - Mira Petarcheva. I was a little bit nervous, I didn`t know what to expect. But it went great! The other students and I were given the CAS guide and all the needed documentation. Mrs. Petarcheva gave us instructions about our Attendance sheets and the Personal Planning Pages. It`s kind of weird that every event or action must appear in the blog, but I`ll get used to it. The whole diary-like idea seems good to me and I think it will develop our creativity and responsibility.
I hope our CAS work will become more and more interesting and challenging as we get deeper into the sea of the IB Diploma Programme. :)
