Young Teacher Campaign – Voluntary Teaching English at a Kindergarten

This campaign is one of the best service activities I`ve done for the past two years. We went to two local kindergartens to meet children aged 5-6 and help them learn the basics of English language. I personally had a lot of fun, because they were all super sweet and charming, and curious, and innocent… and we were just standing there, trying to teach them how to say “My name is…” and “I am .. years old.” But most of them got too confused. So we switched to the easier and more pleasant way – songs and games. I knew a funny kids` song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPZKFpZs8b4 and I sang along with them. All the children had a lot of fun and we could not but give each other two, three, four hugs until we were able to leave! It`s good… knowing you`ve helped someone grow up – even this little bit!

Organization of Halloween party - 2nd part

The Halloween trip organisation is almost finished. But we needed to consider what we`re going to do the other two days of our trip. Most certainly, there`s going to be a Karaoke party the second night and probably sports activities during the day. And we have a lot of small presents to give away, so the eight- and ninth graders are going to have a lot of opportunities to win a prize. However, our successors – 11 IB will lead the parade this year, so we`ll just act as a quite supportive backup.

Organization of Halloween Party

We`re gonna hold our Halloween celebration in the Film camp of Lesidren this year. It is located near the town of Lovech, an hour and a half away from Tarnovo. It seems like a nice place to stay and it has a lot of facilities for school trips – a large lawn, forest, cinema saloon, 2 restaurants, etc. We`ll have to write the script for the event, which includes about 15 entertaining games. There`s probably going to be toilet paper mummy envelopment, “blood” (juice) drinking and there`s certainly going to have an awards giving part       - Miss and Mister Halloween, Bloodiest Vampire and so on.

Club applied arts: making bracelets

While I was on a study trip to Oxford this summer we had these workshops every day. That`s where I learnt how to make bracelets. “ Bracelets can be manufactured from metal, leather, cloth, plastic or other materials and sometimes contain jewelsrocks, wood, shells, crystals, metal or plastic hoops, pearls and many more materials. Bracelets are also used for medical and identification purposes, such as allergy bracelets and hospital patient-identification tags and also bracelet tags worn for new born babies.“(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bracelet) But we made friendship bracelets, because it`s the International Hug Day soon. Don`t worry, be happy, love your friends.

Opening the club year at school

One more clubbing year at school. Teachers once again presented their clubs and gave a brief description of what is on the agenda for this school year. My classmates and I are going to take part In the charity club Hope & Love, the Applied Arts club, the Young Journalist club, Tourism club and probably the Sports club. What would we do without extracurricular some activities to diversify our boring school life? J

Celebrating the International Teachers` Day – making a poster

Last year students celebrated the International Teachers` Day as they gave flowers to the teachers and left a poster with послания in the Teachers room. This year, we made posters again. We wanted to make these people feel special and to show our respect to them, so we found the most flattering quotes and wrote them on books and in clouds and put a lot of colours. The ladder we painted подпряна on the купчина books leading to the sun symbolizes that knowledge gives us power and that teachers are our support, our guides towards the power, our ladder.
