Charity club 'Hope & Love': Christmas organization

It is time for us to think about Christmas celebrations. The charity club held a meeting again today to discuss the December events on the agenda and the most important one - the Christmas charity prom. We had to decide what would the cause of the prom be. So there were four suggestions:

- A man that has been paralized for years after a motor crash
- New school sports facilities
- An 8-year-old boy that needs funding for an operation in Israel
- Funding for an Animal Rescue campaign to save 500 dogs` home

The last one was my idea, because I saw a Facebook post by the organizations staff and decided to read more about the cause. We`ll see what the students will choose in a few weeks time.

Students President Platform

We are ready for a second term. New ideas, new opportunities, new perspectives. This school year, Memo and I formed a coalition with the eight graders with the intentions of passing our "legacy" forward to them, since we graduate in May. The two guys seem to be as ambitious as we are and we get on quite well, so I expect we will have a better chance of winning the President elections once again. The main point of our platform was switching the school hours lenght from 45 minutes back to 40 and starting school at 8 as we used to up until this September, but the Education Inspectorate decided to change it.

Sports Day – Wall Climbing , Orientiering

A second day of sports activities made us feel even more better! I guess this was the most adventurous trip for me lately – I climbed a wall FOR THE FIRST TIME. I am usually not afraid of heights, but after that challenge I came to the conclusion that it`s definitely better to feel a safe ground under your feet. Then we proceeded to the next activity – orientiering. The teachers and the entertainer of the residence had hidden 6 bottles in the surrounding area, which we, the teams, were supposed to find having just coordinates and compasses. But, of course, we did it! My team even won a second bottle, because we were the first team to gather at the starting point after we had found one bottle.

Karaoke Party

We will we will rock you!!!! We will we will rock you! Everyone loves the karaoke part of our school trips. Some are brave enough to sing alone, others in duos, others in trios... this time we had a whole class singing though it sounded really bad. haha Then we proceeded to the dancing - a few sexy moves and a lot of attitude - the perfect formula for a great performance! I decided to teach them the beginning of my hip-hop choreographer Milly`s dance, because it`s funny and easy, and compelling. :D Here is the song to which we danced: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AlzgDVLtU6g
It should be noted that the girls were million times shier than the boys. Our little men rock!

Sports Day – Paintball, Shooting, Orientiering, etc.

After the long Halloween night it was time for us to get in shape. Some exercise is never too much, right? And since the residence we stayed at had a proper ground for sports activities, we took advantage of it. I had never before played paintball, neither had most of the others, so I can say this was the biggest challenge that day. We were just a bunch of brave soldiers falling down on the ground one by one. Exciting for sure. Then we went on to the shooting ground – I am unbeatable at riffle shooting! Haha. And not so much at archery. :/

Celebrating Halloween

As I already said in the Halloween organisation post, this year`s Halloween was a bit different, because 11IB played the main role in the event. They did a good job as hosts of the celebration, we all had fun most of the time, but I could not but notice how shy and uncomfortable the children felt the whole night. I think my favourite game was the Scavenger Hunt – 5 kids with covered eyes were challenged to get a piece of apple with their mouth. But the catch is, this apple piece was tied to a lath with a tread. Hands were not allowed! :D Another thing is, the participants in the celebration were divided into three groups – the Pirates, the Witches and the Fairytale characters, and they were all dressed and masked according to which group they belonged to. So it was a great fun!

Trip to Lovech and Lesidren

On our way to Lesidren, we stopped by to visit Lovech - the last time I was there was in Second grade. Lovech is a beautiful city, located on Osam river and is famous with the Kolio Fitscheto`s covered bridge. You can either visit the newly built mall or get a walk on the river bank, then cross the bridge and buy some postcards, magnets and other souvenirs. We could not choose one, so we wandered for about an hour, we went to the mall, then accross the bridge. After that we headed to Lesidren, which was no more than a fifteen minutes away from Lovech.
