This was one of the days when three generations met and shared common thoughts, emotions and feelings. My classmates and I visited the local
home for old people to celebrate their gala day – 1.10. At first, seeing all
those old people living their last years at a community center made me feel
sorry for them, I felt sad and compassionate But then, once I had spent some
time with the grandparents, I definitely changed my mind. This is their home,
this is where they`ve found friends, people to take care of them. Not only do
they have a young spirit, but they are unbelievably vital. A granny has come to
a hundred, another one - a hundred and four. How amazing is that? Every single
person at this home has gained a remarkable experience in life and listening to
all their stories made my heart melt. I just couldn`t miss a single word they
say. What I gave those people for their celebration was a charity dance performance of tango with an old man, called Peter. It was unusual and challenging, since I have never danced a “freestyle” tango. But it was so touching. I could see the joy in Old Peter`s eyes, while we were dancing. We were both nervous, but everything went great! It was definitely fun and the audience loved us!
Apart from the “Express tango”, the old men and women had prepared lovely songs and dances and they once more proved that no matter how old you are, you can always have fun and do what makes you happy.
The event was also attended by the mayor of Veliko Tarnovo - Daniel Panov, and reflected in the media.

I am so glad that I had the opportunity to spend
that day with the old people from the residential home – the kindest people you
will ever see! And I am definitely going back there some day!
