EU Year for Solidarity between Generations: planting trees at the local RHOP "V.Boteva"

Today was full of positivity. The European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations gave us the great opportunity to participate in the project generations@school. Together with the elders from the RHOP"Veneta Boteva" we conducted the campaign "Paulovnia - the tree of the future" and 10 Paulovnia trees were planted in their garden.
Paulovnia is the fastest growing tree around the world. It`s an Asian tree whose foliage processes ten times the usual amount of carbon dioxide released in the atmosphere! The wood is widely used for furniture and that`s another reason why the tree is so valuable - every part of it is usable. It truly is the tree of the future.

Our act is, indeed, showing solidarity between generations and nobility as well, because "A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in. ", but "A society grows greater when old men and young men plant trees together!".
